Join the LUG Con Crew

LUG Con Crew are the heart of the convention who share their time and talents to help bring memorable experiences to attendees.

LUG Con Crew Categories Crew members fall into two categories. Both categories are eligible for benefits.

Operations Team

The Operations Team supports the core functions of the convention, including:

    • Registration
    • Game Library
    • Prize Wall
    • Runner / General Support
    • Physical Setup & Teardown
    • Station Support

Event Hosts

Event Hosts are responsible for running scheduled programming such as:

  • Open demos
  • Learn-to-play sessions
  • Tournments
  • Organized play events

*Note: Event Hosts being considered part of the Crew and therefore held to certain expectations, is an update from last year. Please review the How To Guides thoroughly before applying.

How to Sign Up

STEP 1: Review Crew Guides

Be sure to read the entire Crew Program Guide thoroughly to understand your options, benefits, and expectations before signing up. If you will be hosting events, please review Hosting Events Guide below as well.

STEP 2: Submit Crew Application

Head on over to the Tabletop Events site where the Crew Applications are. Log in and select the “Volunteer” menu at the top and choose “Apply/View Application”. Once you submit your Crew Application, you will receive an email confirmation. It will then be reviewed by LUG Con staff.

STEP 3: Sign Up

Those contributing to the Operations Team will sign up for shifts. Those contributing as Event Hosts will need to submit their events in Tabletop Events and/or make arrangements with the Event Coordinator if contributing to a LUG Con designed event.

*Crew members must meet certain requirements to be eligible for certain benefits.
**Additional benefits, though not guaranteed, may be provided based on sponsorship donations.
***Disclaimer: Despite the tab title in Tabletop Events, Crew members are independent contributors and are not considered formal volunteers.

Important things to note:

  • Crew Applications and Event Submissions are projected close July 31, 2026.
  • Submission, crew application or event submission, does not guarantee acceptance. Each submission will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the goals and needs of the Con.
  • Approval of shift sign ups and/or event submissions, is considered a commitment. Any changes to commitment should be communicated to the Event Coordinator immediately and may result in a change or loss of benefits.

LUG Con Crew members participate as independent contributors to the event. They are not employees, contractors, or formal volunteers of LUG Con and are not entitled to any wages, employment benefits, or protections associated with employment or formal volunteer status. Participation is voluntary and based solely on the terms outlined in the LUG Con Crew Program.
